All people and animals are invited to the party!
Tis the season of NYFW, all of New York’s finest designers are presenting shows to New York’s finest socialites, bloggers and all in-between.
One of the standout shows of the week was Christian Cowan. Cowan held his fall RTW collection showing at the One World Observatory which Cowan called the “highest fashion show ever”, the building standing more than 1000 stories high amongst the clouds, taking the guests out of New York for a few minutes.
With an absolutely fabulous back drop comes an absolutely fabulous cast of models in all shapes, sizes and ethnicities. This season Cowan has invited all animals, textures and prints to join the runway, the pieces ranging from a mixture of after-hours Carrie Bradshaw to glam socialite, to sexy chic and 70’s glam studio 54. The collection featured cropped bubble-gum pink puffer jackets paired with lavender silk miniskirts with meter long trains and geometric black sequin dresses with tails of peacock feathers draping the bottom.
The collection had an abrasive glam rock chic vibe with casual tones throughout, as it is a Ready To Wear collection after all. This show also is reminding people that the stereo-typical fashion model has long gone, featuring sexy voluptuous, and strong, powerful women that owned the runway.
With nails long enough for Cardi B and glam dresses fit for Bianca Jagger, this show really set the tone for this year’s partyie and grocery runs.
