Statement of Intent Tips

Your statement of intent gives you a chance to show us why you'd be a great fit for your chosen course at Whitecliffe | The Fashion Institute.

We want to know why you want to study the course you've chosen, how it will enrich your learning and future career, and why you think Whitecliffe | The Fashion Institute is an ideal place for you.

Some key points to include in your personal statement:

  • What are your future career goals

  • How this degree will help you with your career goals

  • Why do you think you’re the ideal applicant for this course

  • What is it particularly about Whitecliffe | The Fashion Institute and the course that appeals to you​

​

Any additional documentation such as a resume or examples of work experience will be welcomed.

STEP 1 - APPLY ONLINE

Complete the appropriate application form with supporting documentation.

 

DOMESTIC

​

INTERNATIONAL

​

Please ensure you have all your documents ready before applying; this will help our Admissions Team process your application efficiently.

​

At a minimum, the following documentation is to be provided when applying:

  • 100 points of identification, e.g. certified copies of a passport, birth certificate, license or photo card;

  • Copies of Year 12 certificate, e.g. HSC certificate or equivalent, within the past two years, OR

  • A Certificate IV or higher within the past 5 years.

Please note: Students are required to be aged 18 by the end of their first trimester of study. â€‹â€‹

​

If you have completed your studies outside of this timeframe, we recommend still include copies of your transcripts/certificates.

​​

Applicants who left senior secondary education more than two years prior to their application and have not undertaken VET or higher education since, may gain entry based on professional work experience. To be considered for admission based on work and life experience must be 20 years at the time of their course commencement. Applicants may be assessed on a combination of: 

  • Resume

  • A completed enabling course

  • Non formal learning (e.g., non-accredited professional development such as volunteering work, community leadership, micro-credentials or industry relevant experience)

In addition to the above, please submit a short 300-word statement of intent [see tips on a successful statement].

STEP 2 - CHAT WITH US!

​

Once you submit your application, our Admissions Team will reach out to chat about your journey ahead! This is a fantastic opportunity for us to learn more about your passions, answer any questions about studying at Whitecliffe The Fashion Institute, and guide you through the next steps after receiving an offer. Its also a great time to visit the campus and take a look around.

​

Please note: This conversation is a key part of the application process, so we won’t be able to progress your application if we’re unable to connect with you.

STEP 3 - LETTER OF OFFER

​

If your application is successful, you will receive an official offer detailing the steps to accept your place at Whitecliffe The Fashion Institute.

 

This offer will include important information regarding contractual arrangements, FEE-HELP eligibility, academic calendars and the necessary steps to take before commencing your studies.

​

In some cases, a conditional offer may be issued if additional documentation is required.

​

You can formally accept your offered place by completing, signing and returning the Agreement Acceptance Declaration in the Letter of Offer and finalise your funding. Once all items have been actioned, the Confirmation of Enrolment will be issued.

​

Please note that all offers are valid for two weeks from the date of issue.

STEP 4 - ATTEND ORIENTATION

​

Get ready to kick-start your journey with an exciting Orientation, held either on campus or virtually! All students will attend Orientation the week before classes begin, an essential day designed to help you settle in, meet your lecturers and fellow students, and get all your questions answered. It’s the perfect way to start feeling at home at Whitecliffe The Fashion Institute.
