TFI x General Pants: Fashionable Friends in our Finest Denim

I am not a morning person.

However, getting up at 3:30am on this particular Wednesday seemed a lot easier than normal. 13 TFI students, myself included, were chosen to feature in a campaign in collaboration with General Pants Co. that would be conducted around the streets of Chippendale wearing our finest denim. Side note; lots of caffeine required for early wake ups and early meeting times.

Prior to the shoot we were arranged into groups, where roles were assigned to us in order for our creative vision to come to life. I was sorted into Group 1 with Levi, Laura and Nadya; where we shared our ideas about how we wanted the shoot to look. I was assigned the copywriter role - assisting with written articles and content captions. I’ll be honest, I was nervous! As it turns out, I was the only one from my class in the group. It’s classic Brooke behaviour to overthink a little bit, and overthink I did - in the end, I’m not sure why I did. We all got along incredibly well, and I am thankful to have a new little handful of beautiful, fashionable friends.

The morning arrives! I feel at ease with my group and with the lovely team at GP - so we head out first to brace the cold in the name of fashion, (worth it). It felt surreal and special to be styled and photographed by the team. It was like having our own little hype team. We were photographed individually and as a group, while shooting content for our own social media platforms in between - all while having fun doing it.

We finish the day off with our one on one interviews about our experiences so far with TFI and the day itself. I feel that at the end of the day, myself and my group were proud of what we had achieved with the assistance of the GP team and the staff at TFI.

I am truly grateful for this opportunity I got to participate in, all thanks to TFI. The whole day felt like a fashionable dream, and I am thankful I got to share the experience with my group. Although I may not be a morning person, I’d do it all again in a heartbeat - early wake-up and all.
