TFI Campaign: Q&A With The Dream Team

Updated: Dec 8, 2022

Words by Carla Traplin

It’s not very often you get put in a work group where you know next to none and have an immediate connection. Lucky for myself I hit the jackpot in the TFIxGP Campaign. My group who consisted of Daniela Centurion, Jordan Ledwell, Serina King and Bella Foster was nothing short of perfect and I am lucky enough to get to share a little bit of that perfect with you. I sat down with all my group members to write a little profile and have a Q&A with them!

First off, we have my amazing classmate, Daniela. We both started at TFI in April of this year and have had a great few months learning, and getting to gain first-hand experience in the industry. Daniela is currently interning for Barre Body where she is the marketing and social media intern. She has also had work opportunities through volunteering for runways shows as well.

Q: What has been the most exciting experience you have had since being at TFI?

DC: The most exciting thing I have done with TFI so far was assisting backstage at the Aje runway show. Definitely a highlight if this year!

Q: What would you say is your main inspiration for studying fashion and why?

DC: My inspiration to study fashion was wanting to be a part of this creative industry. Seeing how everyone is able to express themselves freely is a big inspiration.

Q: Where do you want to see yourself this time next year?

DC: This time year I see myself with my diploma and hopefully a job within social media focussing on fashion. I also would love to still be volunteering at shoots and runways.

Next, we have Bella Foster. Bella started TFI this year in February and is currently interning at Camilla in buying. During the TFIxGP I have to give a little shout out to Bella to not only letting everyone is us use her phone for photos but also spending almost an hour after the day ended to send every photo to us so we could all get the best Instagram posts up. She was a real team player.

Q: What is it like interning with one of Australia’s biggest brands, Camilla?

BF: Never in a million years would I think I would be doing this! Everybody in the head office is so beautiful, friendly and kind. I couldn’t imagine gaining experience anywhere else.

Q: What has been your favourite memory at TFI so far?

BF: My favourite memory at TFI is sharing all my experiences with my friends. When studying they are my rock, we all help each other which I love.

Q: Where do you want to see yourself this time next year?

BF: In a year’s time I see myself assisting a buyer with any company. I am so open to anything, throw it at me!

Second to last, we have Jordan who is classmates with Bella and also started this year in February at TFI. Jordan is currently interning at the electric collective and has been gaining lots of experience across the industry like working with the head style team at AAFW this year!

Q: What was it like working on the TFI x General Pants campaign?

JL: Working on the General Pants Campaign was such an exciting experience. It is so fulfilling to be able to throw yourself into a creative project and work with such talented people. The best thing about working on this campaign was being able to see your vision come to life on camera.

Q: What is your ultimate advice for someone wanting to get starting in the fashion industry?

JL: I’d day my biggest advice for people starting in the industry Is put your hand up for everything. Don’t let a good opportunity pass you nu because you never know if that will be your chance to prove yourself and get your foot in the door!

Q: Where do you want to see yourself this time next year?

JL: Next year I hope to be working as a stylist hopefully for a brand that reflects my style and who I am or even being able to work in TV wardrobe would be a dream.

Lastly, we have Serina! Serina started at TFI last year in July and has now recently graduated from TFI which is so amazing! Congrats Serina. Serina was a great team member on shoot day, she gave us all some great tips and tricks to modelling as she has had experience herself. The outcome of her photos for the day were definitely some of my favourites!

Q: What was it like working on the TFI x General Pants campaign?

SK: I loved working with our team? Collaborating with everyone was such a fun experience as well as hearing about out different experiences with TFI.

Q: What is your ultimate advice for someone wanting to get starting in the fashion industry?

SK: Try everything and never say no! You can always learn something from every experience, internships especially as the connection you can get can lead to something else for you.

Q: Now that you have graduated at TFI, what are you aiming to achieve?

SK: Since graduating I have been looking for a part time position with the connections Bryce has hooked us up with and continues to give us.

It’s so crazy to reflect on our campaign and see how long ago it was. Definitely wish we were back there now instead of lockdown. I hope this gave you all a little insight into these 4 lovely people and their achievements. If you want to keep up to date with their careers, I have linked their Instagram accounts below, as well as mine!
